Upholstery Cleaning

We can clean all types of fabrics using steam cleaning, warm water cleaning, dry foam cleaning and dry solvent cleaning.

There are thousands of different fabrics on the market today and nothing is a problem for our qualified IICRC certified technicians at Furniture Pro Solutions.

Fabrics we can clean on site are:

  • Cotton
  • Linen
  • Wool
  • Silk
  • Indian cotton
  • Rayon
  • Acetate
  • Nylon
  • Polyester
  • Acrylic
  • Polypropylene
  • Microfiber

To keep your furniture clean, it's necessary to conduct routine maintenance (e.g. vacuuming, immediate attention to spills), coupled with periodic cleaning by a certified technician every 12 to 24 months. Furniture and fabric manufacturers recommend that consumers not wait until severe soiling occurs before cleaning because the greater the soiling, the less the likelihood of restoring the fabric's original color, appearance and texture; and the greater adverse effect on indoor environmental quality.

urniture Pro Solutions provides a complete upholstery cleaning and care package.

Furniture Pro Solutions also has a national contract and has qualified technicians all around North America who look after a lot of protected lounge suites with five year warranties.

Our deluxe upholstery cleaning service is the most comprehensive service on the market today leaving your upholstery clean, soft, dry and ready to use.

  4. Agitation with soft brush, pad or soft sponge.
Agitation will break down soil, body fats and oils.
  5. Powerful machines (State of the Art Equipment)
Powerful equipment delivers higher heat and more vacuum, resulting in cleaner and dryer fabric.
Some fabrics require colder cleaning temperatures and so the temperature is turned down.
  6. Deodorising and neutralising. No sticky residue, no re-soiling.
Acid rinsing fabrics to neutralise upholstery, preventing chemical residue buildup leaving the fabric nice and soft.

Upholstery cleaning can be a grey area when it comes to quoting over the phone. The areas we look at before we quote are:

  1. The amount of seating capacity - eg. Lounge suites - a 3 seater plus 2 recliners = 5 seats.
  2. The size of the seating area - eg. Some seats are longer or larger and also to include the cushions and armrests
  3. The degree of soiling - depending on the longer the time between cleans and the type of fabric. Obviously the more soiled it is, the longer the upholstery will take to clean.
  4. The type of fabric - There are thousands of different fabrics out there. Some are easier to clean than others. Some fabrics are delicate and we can't be aggressive with chemicals so the fabric, eg. Indian Cotton, can take longer to clean. Also if the fabric is not colourfast it can take longer to clean.

Our qualified technicians (through the Institute of Inspection Cleaning & Restoration), carefully answer these questions to determine the best scope of works and price for you. By answering these questions they can determine how long the upholstery will take to clean.

Upholstery can be very hard to quote over the phone because some questions can only be answered by visual inspection. Check out our pricing page. We estimate upholstery cleaning over the phone on an average depending on the answers to the visual inspection and those 4 key points. It also depends on how long it takes to clean. Some 5 seater lounges can take us 1.5 hours to clean whereas some other 5 seater lounges could take 3 or 4 hours to clean.

When looking for an upholstery cleaner they normally throw their price at you in the first 15 seconds of the phone call. You need to find out what you are getting for your money.

Recommended Cleaning

Upholstered goods are a popular part of our décor and surroundings and as with any fabric are required to be maintained and therefore cleaned under normal soiling conditions. It is recommended that most upholstered furniture should be cleaned every 12-24 months.
